Ezekial Thatcher was clerk of the Parkville School District, Shasta County, Calif. He emigrated to California from Pennsylvania in 1850 and helped establish the first school district in the Parkville area. He is descended from the Thatchers of Uffington, England, the same family as Denis Thatcher, husband of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. From the description of H.H. John Lee Jones (1841 -1935) was born in St. Helens (Merseyside, England), the son of John Pidding Jones and Margaret Lee. After his parents were converted to Mormonism in 1846, Jones himself was baptized into the church in 1850. As emigrants from England, the family helped settle Iron County, Utah in 1852. Jones was ordained a deacon in 1859 and received his endowment in 1865. He served on several missions including one to England in 1879. Jones was a polygamist; his first wife was Rachel Simkin...
